Hike Salamansa & Baia das Gatas

The most famous Cape Verdean island for hiking trips is Santo Antao. But did you know that Sao Vicente also offers a wide range of undiscovered walking tracks? There are various hiking paths around Mindelo city to explore the rougher inlands and the dazzling coastline.  

Mindelo - Salamansa - Baia das Gatas (9 or 15 km) Start in the historical centre of Mindelo and leave the city through the local neighbourhoods. Pass the remote mountain roads before reaching the sand dunes of Salamansa beach. Visit the local village and enjoy a tasty lunch on the beach. Choose to continue to Baia das Gatas for a swim in the natural pools or return to Mindelo by transfer.
