Meet the team

Lina grew up in Belgium where she studied tourism and hospitality managment. The internship in a travel agency, hotel visits and study trips in European countries awakened her passion for tourism. She has always been interested in different cultures, foreign countries and other languages. After studying abroad, she started working as a holiday advisor in different European destinations like Costa del Sol and Ibiza. These experiences thought her a lot about the tourism industry. After 3 sunny years abroad she returned to Belgium, but her future wasn't there. Cape Verde had won a special place in her heart and she kept returning to find new opportunities.

After working in a beach club on Boa Vista island she decided to open her own tour company. She moved to Mindelo on São Vicente from where she is running Cabo Mundo tours.

"For Lina it's a dream come true working and living on my favourite dots in the middle of the ocean."

Ismael grew up in the vibrant city Mindelo on São Vicente. He is an electrician by profession, but always felt comfortable working with people. He's developed his passion for the tourism industry when he guided groups from the cruise ships. This started his career in tourism as a travel representative for the Dutch agency Voja Travel. Ismael is always in a good mood and loves to put a smile on peoples face and show them around the island.

"Ismael knows so many people in Mindelo that when you'll go with him on a tour, you'll see him greeting locals all the time, having a little chat and spreading a good vibe."

Nelson is originally from the greenest Cape Verdean island, Santo Antão. He grew up in nature and still feels at his best exploring rough lands and hiking paths. He moved to São Vicente to study at the university and decided to stay. He rolled in the tourism industry and developed his skills. He is used to guiding big groups and join travellers on hiking trips to Santo Antão. Nelson has his feet on the ground and loves to share his knowledge with travellers.

"A local Cachupa dish on the wooden stove, a tea from homegrown herbs or a tasty caipirinha from local passion fruit, Nelson loves to produce and share it all! A great example of the Cape Verdean Morabeza (warm welcome and hospitality)."
