Hike Serra Malagueta

A spectacular descent & local family lunch

Serra Malagueta national park is the most interesting walking area on Santiago island full of endemic plants, several hiking tracks and spectacular viewpoints. 

Starting at Tarrafal you'll start the local experience by taking the Cape Verdean bus, Hiace or aluguer to the start of the hike in Serra Malagueta. Walk down to Achada Lagoa and to Mato Brasil. After the hike, enjoy lunch with a local family in their own house. 

Good to know: The duration of the trek depends on your physical level. On average the trek takes between 2 and 3 hours. A basic condition and trekking experience is required. Walking sticks may help you descend easier.
